A historic address

Today, although the Maison has sixteen Parisian boutiques, it was at the historic address of Faubourg Montmartre that it all began in 1761. The starting point for the history of the oldest chocolate shop in Paris , it was with this shop, taken over more than twenty years ago by the Dolfi family, that the adventure of "safeguarding" the French chocolate and confectionery heritage began. Among the chocolate recipes and Maison specialties, which number in the hundreds, are the famous praline rocks, the Folies de l'Écureuil, the spread, the Florentins and the essential Palets Montmartre.

Founded in 1761 on rue du Faubourg Montmartre by a young grocer from Coulommiers, the address became that of the " Mère de Famille " when it was taken over by Marie-Adélaïde Bridault at the very beginning of the 19th century. Second wife of one of Pierre-Jean Bernard's sons-in-law, who took over the business after her husband's death in 1807 and left alone with her four children, she brought the shop unprecedented fame.

In the heart of this fashionable district, popular with writers and artists, the flourishing brand gradually specialized in chocolate while offering many confectionery products, until it became an essential place for its transmission. The Bridault , then Lecœur , Dreux , the Legrand , the Brethonneau , Monsieur Neveu , and finally Mesdames and Messieurs Dolfi , from family to family, between old-fashioned know-how and gourmet innovation , number 35 became the guardian of French sweet heritage and continued to evolve, gradually becoming a renowned chocolate factory. Intact since the end of the 19th century, the historic boutique and its authentic charm is a unique place full of emotion.
